How to Set Up the Bria Mobile App for EMAK Telecom
The Bria Mobile softphone app lets you make and receive calls from your EMAK Telecom extension on your iPhone or Android phone over Wi-Fi or cellular data. When you call out, your work number shows on the caller ID — so you can keep your personal mobile number private and separate work calls from your personal life.
What You Need Before You Start
Have the following on hand before you begin. You can find these settings in the EMAK Telecom phone portal under Accounts > Extensions, or email [email protected] and an agent will send them to you.
- SIP Server — your domain followed by
.emaktalk.com:5090(for example,customer.emaktalk.com:5090). - SIP User ID — your extension number.
- SIP Authentication ID — your extension number.
- Password — your extension password.
Important: Do not share your extension password with anyone, and keep it in a safe place. You are responsible for any long-distance charges placed on your account.
Step 1: Install Bria Mobile
Download the Bria Mobile app from your phone’s app store:
Bria Mobile is a paid app from CounterPath (about $10 USD per year at the time of writing). The cost goes to CounterPath, not to EMAK Telecom.
Step 2: Open the App and Add an Account
Open Bria Mobile, tap Settings on the bottom bar, then choose Accounts on the top menu to add a new account.

Step 3: Add a SIP Account
On the Add New Account page, tap the + button and select SIP Account.

Step 4: Enter Your Account Information
Fill in the SIP account fields with your EMAK Telecom extension details:
- Account Name: your company name.
- Display As: your extension number.
- Username: your extension number.
- Password: your extension password.
- Domain: your company domain followed by
.emaktalk.com:5090— for examplecustomer.emaktalk.com:5090. - VM Number:
*97(so the voicemail button dials your EMAK voicemail).
Tap the checkmark ✓ to save the account.

Step 5: Adjust the Refresh and Keep-Alive Intervals
Open Account > Advanced and set the values below. These settings keep the app reliably registered so you receive incoming calls without delay.
Note: The advanced settings cannot be changed while the account is enabled — the fields will appear greyed out. Disable the account first, make the changes, then re-enable it.
- Wi-Fi Refresh Interval: set to 240.
- Mobile Refresh Interval: set to 240.
- Keep Alive — Wi-Fi Interval: set to 30.
- Keep Alive — Mobile Interval: set to 9.

Step 6: Start Calling
Re-enable the account if you disabled it, and you are ready to make and receive calls from your EMAK Telecom extension on your phone.
Bria Mobile FAQ
Why use Bria Mobile instead of a regular calling app?
Bria Mobile registers your EMAK Telecom extension directly on your phone, so calls you place show your work caller ID and incoming calls to your extension ring on your phone. You do not have to share your personal mobile number, and you can take your office phone with you anywhere you have Wi-Fi or cellular data.
Where can I find my extension password and domain?
Sign in to the EMAK Telecom phone portal and open Accounts > Extensions. If you do not have portal access, email [email protected] and we will send you the settings you need.
Why do I need to disable the account before changing the advanced settings?
Bria does not allow advanced refresh and keep-alive intervals to be changed while the account is registered, so the fields are greyed out when the account is enabled. Toggle the account off, change the values, and toggle it back on.
Why are these specific refresh and keep-alive values recommended?
The 240-second refresh and 30/9-second keep-alive values keep your registration with the EMAK SIP servers fresh on both Wi-Fi and cellular, while still being conservative enough to limit battery usage. Using shorter values can drain your battery; longer values can cause incoming calls to ring late or be missed.
