How to Access Voicemail

You can check your EMAK Telecom voicemail in three ways: from your phone, from your email inbox, or from the online phone portal. This guide walks through all three methods.

Check Voicemail From Your Phone

The fastest way to check voicemail is from the phone or app where the extension is registered:

  • Desk phone: press the envelope button or message key.
  • Desktop softphone: press the voicemail button in the app.Voicemail button in the EMAK desktop softphone
  • Mobile app: dial *97.

When prompted, enter your voicemail PIN. The default PIN is 1234 — we recommend changing it the first time you sign in.

Get Voicemail by Email

With the voicemail-to-email feature, EMAK Telecom sends a copy of every voicemail message to your email inbox as soon as it is recorded. You can listen to messages directly from your email without dialling in.

You can enable voicemail-to-email yourself from the online phone portal by setting your email address on the extension. If you would prefer that we set it up for you, send your request to [email protected] or call (514) 400-0226.

You can also play and download your voicemail messages from the EMAK Telecom phone portal. If you have not signed in before, see How to Log In to the Phone Portal.

Once you are signed in, hover over Extensions and click Voicemails.

You will see a list of voicemail boxes. The ID usually corresponds to the extension number that the box belongs to.

Under Tools, click Messages to open the messages stored in that mailbox. From there you can play each message in your browser or download it.

Voicemail FAQ

What is the default voicemail PIN?

The default voicemail PIN is 1234. We recommend changing it the first time you check your voicemail. You can change the PIN from the voicemail menu on your phone, or from the phone portal.

How do I check voicemail from a different phone?

From any EMAK Telecom phone, dial *97 and then enter your extension number and PIN when prompted. This lets you check your voicemail from a coworker’s phone or from a softphone that is signed in to a different extension.

Can I get voicemail messages as audio attachments in email?

Yes. The voicemail-to-email feature sends each new message to your inbox as an audio attachment, so you can listen on any device. Enable it in the phone portal by setting your email address on your extension, or contact [email protected] for help.

I forgot my voicemail PIN — how do I reset it?

Contact EMAK Telecom support at (514) 400-0226 or email [email protected], and we can reset your voicemail PIN to the default so that you can sign in and choose a new one.
