What happens to calls when DND is on?
When Do Not Disturb is enabled, calls to your extension stop ringing on your devices and silently redirect to your configured fallback — voicemail, a colleague's extension, a ring group, or an external number. Callers hear a professional greeting and are handled normally; they never know you had DND on.
Can DND activate automatically after hours?
Yes. You can tie DND to your business hours schedule so it activates automatically at the end of the workday and deactivates each morning. After-hours calls route to voicemail or your on-call backup without anyone toggling a switch.
Does DND apply to all calls or just external?
By default, DND applies to all incoming calls on your VoIP extension — both internal and external. If you need to remain reachable for specific colleagues while blocking external calls, you can configure your routing to handle each case differently.
