Both are phone systems built for Quebec dental clinics. We compared price, contract, features, data, support and reviews, point by point.

Updated September 24, 2026 Facts checked on EMAK's and Fresk's own websites Written by EMAK: how we compared

Our verdict

Fresk and EMAK both serve Quebec dental clinics well. Fresk leads on an all-in-one inbox and ready-made software sync; EMAK costs roughly a third as much for the same team, has no contract, and adds fax, paging and the AI receptionist of your choice.

Best for EMAKClinics that want no contract, predictable per-person pricing, fax and paging, and a choice of AI receptionist.
Best for FreskClinics that want calls, texts and email in one inbox with Fresk's own AI, and are fine with a 12-month commitment.

Scorecard: EMAK ahead on 6 points, Fresk ahead on 3, 4 ties.

Patient data and privacy.

  • EMAK stores data in Canada: databases on servers it manages in Beauharnois, Quebec; recordings, voicemails and faxes in Canadian data centres in Quebec and Ontario.
  • Every view or download of a fax or recording is logged with the user, time and IP address.
  • EMAK does not use your calls to train AI, and says publicly that it is not SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified.
  • Fresk says all data is hosted in Quebec, but section 13 of its terms says some data may be hosted or transit outside Quebec or Canada. Its privacy policy refers to PIPEDA.
  • For a clinic, any storage outside Quebec (Ontario included) calls for a privacy impact assessment under Loi 5. Ask each provider exactly where each type of data is kept.
