EMAK vs Weave for dental clinics in Canada: an honest comparison.

Weave is a US front-office platform; EMAK is a Montreal phone system. We compared price, contract, data location, features, support and reviews.

Updated September 24, 2026 Facts checked on EMAK's and Weave's own websites Written by EMAK: how we compared

Our verdict

Weave does more of the front office: reviews, forms, payments and deep US software integrations. EMAK is the stronger choice for a Quebec clinic that wants its data in Canada, French support, Canadian-dollar pricing and no contract.

Best for EMAKQuebec and Canadian clinics that want data in Canada, French support, no contract and simple CAD pricing.
Best for WeavePractices on US software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft that want reviews, forms and payments in the same tool as the phones.

Scorecard: EMAK ahead on 7 points, Weave ahead on 2, 3 ties.

Patient data and privacy.

  • EMAK stores data in Canada: databases on servers it manages in Beauharnois, Quebec; recordings, voicemails and faxes in Canadian data centres in Quebec and Ontario.
  • Every view or download of a fax or recording is logged with the user, time and IP address.
  • EMAK does not use your calls to train AI, and says publicly that it is not SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified.
  • Weave's help centre says its servers are in the US; its terms say data may be processed in the United States or other countries and may be accessible to US authorities.
  • Weave cites Google Cloud's SOC 2 and ISO 27001 for its hosting.
  • For a Quebec clinic, sending patient information to US servers calls for a privacy impact assessment under Loi 5 first.
