EMAK Softphone Setup on iPhone and Android
The EMAK Softphone puts your EMAK extension on your iPhone or Android phone. It sets itself up once you sign in: no SIP or server settings needed. On a computer instead? See EMAK Softphone Setup on Mac and Windows.
Before You Start
- Your EMAK Web App sign-in: the email address and password you use at client.emaktalk.com. Never set a password? See Set Up Your EMAK Web App Account. Forgot it? See Reset Your EMAK Web App Password.
- An extension assigned to your user. Your account administrator does this in the web app; the softphone needs it to set itself up.
Install the App
Install the EMAK Softphone from the App Store (iPhone, iOS 16 or later) or Google Play (Android), where it’s listed as Cloud Softphone. The EMAK downloads page has both links and QR codes to scan.
Sign In with a QR Code (Easiest)
- On a computer, sign in to the EMAK Web App, open your profile menu and choose Mobile App. You can also open this link, which shows your code right after you sign in.

- On your phone, open the EMAK Softphone and tap Scan QR on the sign-in screen.
- Point the camera at the code on your computer screen. The app signs in and, within a few seconds, is ready to make and receive calls.

Your QR code signs the app in as you, so don’t share it or send a picture of it.
Sign In by Typing (If You Can’t Scan)
- Open the EMAK Softphone.
- In the Cloud ID field, enter your email address followed by
@TEL. For example, if your email is[email protected], enter[email protected]@TEL. - In the Password field, enter your EMAK Web App password, then tap Sign In.
- The softphone sets itself up and, within a few seconds, is ready to make and receive calls.
Allow Notifications and the Microphone
When the app asks, allow notifications and the microphone. Without notifications, calls don’t ring while the app is closed; without the microphone, callers can’t hear you.
EMAK Softphone FAQ
The app says “Cloud ID not found”.
The Cloud ID must end with @TEL, exactly as shown above. Ending it with anything else, such as a phone number, gives this message.
I forgot my password.
Reset it from the sign-in page: see Reset Your EMAK Web App Password. A reset signs you out of the app, so sign in again afterwards.
I changed phones.
Install the EMAK Softphone on the new phone and scan your QR code again from the web app.
The app signs in but doesn’t receive calls.
Ask your administrator to check that an extension is assigned to you in the EMAK Web App. If it is, your network may be blocking calls: see the EMAK firewall whitelist and improve VoIP call quality.
Can I use the softphone on several devices?
Yes. By default only one device rings at a time; ask your administrator about Follow Me if you want them all to ring.
