Cloud Softphone Registration on Desktop / Mac
The EMAK Telecom Cloud Softphone is the desktop softphone that registers automatically against your EMAK extension once installed and signed in — no SIP credentials, server addresses, or codec configuration needed. This guide covers downloading the right installer for your platform, signing in, and the username convention that makes auto-provisioning work.
Download the Cloud Softphone
Windows
- Latest version (.exe installer) — direct from Cloud Softphone, always current.
- cloud_softphone.exe — EMAK-mirrored .exe installer.
- cloud_softphone.appx — Microsoft Store / sideload package.
macOS
- Latest version (.pkg installer) — direct from Cloud Softphone.
- cloud_softphone.pkg — EMAK-mirrored .pkg installer.
- cloud_softphone.dmg — disk image (drag-to-Applications).
Use the latest-version links if you want the very newest build straight from the vendor; use the EMAK-mirrored links if you need a stable, EMAK-vetted copy.
- In the EMAK phone portal, assign the extension to the user on the New Users page.
- Open the Cloud Softphone and sign in with the user’s email address followed by
@TEL.- For example, if the user’s email is
[email protected], their softphone username is[email protected]@TEL.
- For example, if the user’s email is
- The softphone provisions itself — no additional configuration is required. Within a few seconds it should register green and be ready to make and receive calls.
Cloud Softphone FAQ
Why @TEL after the email?
The trailing @TEL tells the EMAK provisioning service which platform to send the configuration to. It is appended to the email — the user’s actual email address (and inbox) is unchanged.
Should I use the vendor “latest version” link or the EMAK-mirrored copy?
The vendor latest is updated frequently and may include very new features. The EMAK-mirrored copies are pinned to versions tested with EMAK Telecom. For most installations either works — use the EMAK-mirrored copy if you prefer maximum stability.
The softphone signs in but won’t register.
Confirm the user has been assigned an extension on the EMAK portal first — the Cloud Softphone needs an extension to provision against. If registration still fails, your network may be blocking SIP — see EMAK firewall whitelist and improve VoIP call quality.
Can the same user run the Cloud Softphone on multiple computers?
Yes — the user can sign in from multiple devices. By default, only one will ring at a time depending on registration order; speak to your administrator if you want simultaneous ringing across all your devices via Follow Me.
Is there a mobile version?
For mobile, EMAK Telecom recommends Bria — see Bria mobile setup. Or use Acrobits Groundwire — see Groundwire setup.
Does the Cloud Softphone work with a USB headset?
Yes — see setting up a headset on the EMAK softphone for selecting the right audio device.
