How to Start a Conference Call on a Yealink Phone

Yealink desk phones support a built-in three-way conference — you and two other people on the same call. This guide covers how to start a conference, how to split it back into two calls, and how to merge two existing calls into a conference.

Start a Conference Call

  1. While on an active call, press the Conference soft key. The first party is automatically placed on hold.
  2. Dial the number of the second party.
  3. Press the Send soft key (or the OK button) to place the call.
  4. When the second party answers, press the Conference soft key again to join all three parties together.
  5. To end the conference, press the Cancel soft key or hang up.

Split a Conference Into Two Calls

While in an active conference, press the Split soft key to break the conference apart. The two other parties become two independent calls — one active, one on hold — and you can talk to each one separately.

Merge Two Calls Into a Conference

If you already have two active calls and want to combine them, press More > Merge. The calls are joined together into a three-way conference. This is the fastest way to bring two existing parties together without re-dialling either of them.

Yealink Conference FAQ

How many parties can I have in a Yealink conference?

The built-in conference supports up to three parties — you and two others. For larger conferences (4+ participants), use the EMAK Telecom conference bridge instead. The bridge supports many more participants and gives you moderator controls.

What happens to the other parties if I hang up?

When the moderator hangs up, the conference ends for all parties. To leave the conference but keep the others connected, press Split first, then transfer one party to the other before you hang up.

Can I add a third call to an existing conference?

The built-in Yealink conference is limited to three parties total. If you need a fourth person, transfer the call to the EMAK Telecom conference bridge instead.

Why does the Conference soft key not appear on my phone?

Some Yealink models hide certain soft keys behind the More soft key. If you do not see Conference, press More first to reveal additional options. If it is still missing, contact EMAK Telecom support and we can adjust your phone’s soft-key layout.
