How to Change Your User Account Password

If you remember your current EMAK Telecom phone-portal password and just want to set a new one, you can change it from inside the portal in two clicks. Use this when rotating credentials, after sharing them with someone temporarily, or whenever you want a stronger password. If you have forgotten your password instead, see How to Reset Your Password.

Step-by-Step: Change Your Portal Password

  1. Sign in to the EMAK phone portal with your current username and password.
  2. Click Account → Account Settings.

    • At least 8 characters
    • At least 1 lowercase letter
    • At least 1 uppercase letter
  5. Click Save. Your new password takes effect immediately for the next sign-in.

Change Password FAQ

I forgot my current password — can I still change it?

No. The change-password screen requires you to be signed in. If you cannot sign in, use How to Reset Your Password to receive a reset link by email.

Will changing my portal password affect my desk phone or softphone?

No. Your portal password is separate from the SIP credentials your desk phone or softphone uses to register. Changing the portal password does not log out your phones.

How often should I change my password?

There is no forced rotation, but it is good practice to change passwords whenever you suspect they may have been seen by someone who should not have them, or whenever you stop sharing temporary access with another person.

What makes a strong password?

Beyond the minimum requirements, prefer a long passphrase or a randomly generated password from a password manager. Avoid reusing passwords across services.

Can I change another user’s password?

Only administrators can change passwords for other users on the account. Regular users can change only their own. To request a change for another user, contact your administrator.
