Using Your Own Licensed Music
You can use your own music on hold, including commercial music, at no extra cost. Upload the file yourself on the Music on Hold page of the EMAK Web App. Once it’s uploaded, you can choose it wherever hold music is selected, such as a call center queue.
Only upload music you have the rights to use on hold. For commercial music, that means getting your own music-on-hold license, usually from Entandem in Canada. See Music on Hold: Licensing & Rights for what you need.

Music on Hold FAQ
How do I switch to a different track?
To hear what your callers hear right now, dial *9664 from any EMAK phone. Call center queues have their own Music on Hold setting that you can change in the web app (see Call Center Queue Settings). To change the hold music for your whole account, send the track name to our support team; the change takes effect within minutes.
Can I upload my own audio file?
Yes. Upload your .mp3 or .wav file on the Music on Hold page of the EMAK Web App, at no extra cost. Only upload audio you have the rights to use as hold music (see Music on Hold: Licensing & Rights).
Will callers hear the same track every time they’re on hold?
By default each call starts the track from the beginning. If you’d rather the track loop or continue across holds, mention it when you ask us to change your hold music and we’ll set it up.
How long should my custom audio be?
1 to 2 minutes works well. Longer is fine, but most callers will be off hold before the track loops, so do not invest in a 10-minute master if a couple of minutes covers it.
